PARADOSIAKI FLOGA
Association of Greek, Traditional Dances
Since 2001 we have been sharing our passion and love for tradition. Through lessons (children and adults), events, seminars and theatrical performances, we teach morals, customs and above all dance from all corners of our country.
The children's departments are the most important foundation and continuity of the club and for this reason particular attention is given to the way of teaching and the formation of a dance background. Children's groups operate from the age of 4 to 9 and are divided according to their age and dance level. Along with traditional dances, they participate in theatrical play groups that concern tradition and our modern society.
Teenage departments operate for children from 10 to 14 years of age. In these departments there is a systematic preparation for the Greek traditional dance for their smooth integration into the adult departments. Apart from the kinetic elements of the dances, folklore elements of each region are also taught separately.
The base of the traditional flame club consists of the large sections of adults where they are divided into groups according to their level. More than 150 dancers are active in these sections by participating annually in dance performances with dances and songs from Greece. The training of these departments is continuous with traditional dance seminars organized by the association with leading teachers of Greek dances from every corner of Greece.
The special sections concern only the regions of Crete and the Pontus so that they can be attributed to the very specific style of these areas.
This section is a separate piece and represents the club in selected performances both inside and outside Greece. Dancers and teachers with hundreds of performances compose this group of high demands on both the dance and the theoretical level. Records for this section are not accepted - choosing the dancers for the band is done once a year by a committee of the Board of Directors.
